‘Disgusting’ Influencer Parents Slammed For Serving Spaghetti To Their Kids On The Ground

TikTok influencer parents have been called out after serving a spaghetti and meatball dinner to their children outside on a bed sheet.

Kimmy, 29, and Steven Houghton, 32, from Texas, posted what was meant to be a quirky family dinner video to their family account, which has over 194.4k followers. Most of their videos only feature their one-year-old daughter, Stevie Kate, but also other nieces and family members on occasion too.

According to the viral video’s overlay, Kimmy’s husband was in charge of dinner and cleanup, but chose an unconventional approach by laying a sheet down on the ground outside their house and pouring spaghetti, minimal sauce, and meatballs on the sheet. Then the family members all had to combine the food with their hands and eat it the same way. There wasn’t a fork or plate in sight.

Kids and parents alike took to the bizarre meal with relish, and soon everyone’s hands and faces — and in Stevie Kate’s case, hair and feet — were covered with spaghetti sauce.

No one in the video seemed to mind the mess, and at the end of the video, the oldest of the children and Kimmy — notably not Steven as the video claimed — picked up the bed sheet along with the remaining wasted food and the camera zoomed in on Stevie Kate, holding what looks like half a baguette and her face and limbs partially cleared of the messy meal.

The video of the unconventional meal has been viewed over 2.5 million times on TikTok, and people were quick to comment their disgust in the comments section.

“That’s disgusting,” one user commented.

Another said, “I can only imagine the amount of ants, nats, and [flies] landing in it.”

Yet another said, “That’s so gross.”

“‘Teacher teacher, my dad threw dinner on the grass and had us eat it with our hands’ CPS..” a fourth jokingly wrote.

A final user said, quite rightly, “Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.”
