Here’s How Long Your Sexual Dry Spell Will Last, According To A New Study

Has it been a while since you’ve…ya know…done the deed? Whether you admit to it or not, sexual dry spells are more common than people think. Apparently, there’s a lot of us who aren’t getting any right now, but never fear, there is a light at the end of this long dark tunnel.

According to a new study, 28 percent of Americans are currently experiencing a dry spell and honestly, there should be some kind of meetup.

A new study conducted on behalf of the adult lifestyle company LELO surveyed 2,000 American adults about their sex habits.

They discovered that 28% of Americans are currently experiencing a sexual dry spell lasting an average of 10 months for men and 12 months for women.

The beginning of a dry spell is marked by five months without sexual activity.

Wow.

The study also found that Americans would like to be having sex three times a week.

Sounds about right.

And 46% of millennials have slid in someone’s DMs during a dry spell.

That’s where it goes down…

The most common causes of dry spells varied between men and women.

Women were more likely to not be focused on sex *gasp* and men were more likely to have relationship troubles.

According to LELO’s survey, Americans survive a sexual drought by masturbation (46%) exercise (38%) and spending more time at the office (25%).

Another 68% of Americans have used sex toys to get through a dry spell.

Global Marketing Director for LELO Luka Matutinovic says dry spells are inspiring more people to explore self-pleasure.

“Dry spells can entice you to explore your body and all the benefits of self-pleasure. Here sex toys can be beneficial to help you reach orgasms in ways not known before. And in getting to know yourself sky becomes the limit for better sex,” said Matutinovic.

“People masturbate for a variety of reasons, beyond the fact that it is pleasurable it can help with insomnia, boredom or sexual frustration. Masturbation is an important part of your personal relationship with your own sensuality and pleasure,” Matutinovic added. “So why not bring it to another level with a toy or two? You can explore and experiment with different sensations, each toy is a new adventure which will show you that even your dry spell can be the best time in your life.”

So, dry spells aren’t all that bad. In fact, 49% of Americans believe dry spells can be beneficial.

Dry spells also allowed for more time spent with friends and an overall better sense of self.

Regardless, the wait will be over soon. Hang in there, friends.
