86-Year-Old Man Who Bought A VCR On Ebay Responds With Touching Letter About How It Changed His Life

However, every now and then we come across a truly wholesome story that reminds us not everything in this world is a complete dumpster fire. One such story was recently shared with Reddit and has readers reaching for the nearest box of tissues.

On Sunday, Reddit user u/effectivepep shared this photo of a letter written by an 86-year-old man who recently purchased a VHS player on eBay.

The letter, written to the seller of the VCR, expresses the buyer’s overwhelming gratitude for his purchase.

“Thank you so much for your care, your efforts, and your promptness,” he writes.

The elderly buyer says he used the player to watch 25-year-old tapes that held sentimental memories.

“I watched tapes of my retirement party from 25 years ago which I had never seen before. Jeeze, we were young. Then a tape of my wedding with all the family and friends, many of which are no longer around.”

“…Most importantly the gentle maturing of my family.”

“I thought you would appreciate how much someone has enjoyed your offer,” he concluded.

Needless to say, people were touched by the story.
