Stan Lee, Marvel Comics co-creator, writer, producer, and all around grandfather to nerds everywhere passed away at the age of 95. Creating such memorable characters as Spider-Man, Black Panther, Thor, Iron Man, and the Fantastic 4 (to name a few), Stan Lee’s vast influence in entertainment is impossible to miss today.
Think about it for a second. He was writing about Captain America fighting in World War II DURING World War II.
Actors, directors, writers, and fans from across the Internet are outpouring love and grief for Lee today, including much of the cast in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe and beyond.
Rest in peace, Stan. Excelsior, Excelsior, Excelsior!
No one has had more of an impact on my career and everything we do at Marvel Studios than Stan Lee. Stan leaves an extraordinary legacy that will outlive us all. Our thoughts are with his daughter, his family, and his millions of fans. #ThankYouStan #Excelsior!

I wrote a fan letter to Stan Lee as a kid. He sent me a thank you note and a signed copy of HOW TO DRAW COMICS THE MARVEL WAY. There is a part where it compares two different ways to frame a dialogue scene. I literally started my filmmaking education there.
