Many Russians have asked Papa John’s to stop ‘Putin me on’ after their failed “Josef Stalin” pizza code promotion over the weekend.
All Russians had to do was enter the dictators name on the website to receive a Hawaiian or pepperoni pizza because as we all know, nothing makes you hungrier than thinking about a man who starved millions of people.
Papa John’s has tried to justify that the offer was part of a promotional tie-in with the computer game World of Tanks . Apparently Stalin lent his name to a series of Soviet tanks produced in the 1940s which are featured in the game, along with several others.
