Every Halloween–while we load up on candy and sugar, watch everyone ball out with their creative costumes, and binge every scary movie known to mankind–we look through social media to see who wore what, who dressed up as who, and what celebrities totally slayed the spooky season.
Year after year, as we’ve seen online numerous times, actor Neil Patrick Harris and his family have taken the trophy for most creative and well-executed costumes on Halloween. Not only do they always show up on point, but the photos are also ones that the family can look back on and cherish for years to come.
This year, David Burtka shared the family’s costume on Instagram, announcing they’ve decided to be “Hitchhiking Ghosts.” Not only is the costume unique and clever, but it was executed so well that it looks like it can be a poster for The Haunting of Hill House.
Obviously, they killed it–literally. But, it’s not the first time that this adorable family has totally nailed their costume execution. Just last year, the entire family dressed up as iconic carnival characters–just look at this amazing photo.
The year before that, in 2016, they dressed as some of the most iconic Hollywood names–Groucho Marx, Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe, and James Dean.
And, who can forget in 2015 when the family channeled the big names of the Star Wars saga?
I think it’s safe to say that when it comes to Halloween–no one can out-costume this famous family.
