Dunkin’ Donuts Announced They’re Changing Their Name And Twitter Is Triggered

If you’re a coffee and pastry lover, chances are you’ve mozied into a Dunkin’ Donuts at least once in your life. The coffee and breakfast food chain is well-known for serving up the caffeine that “America runs on.”
As a New York native, I am a Dunkin’ Donuts VIP customer. Not only is the coffee much cheaper than Starbucks, but the large iced coffee is also an actual large iced coffee. While I don’t always grab a donut early in the A.M., I’m not opposed to the once-in-a-while glazed donut so early in the morning.

Now, however, my beloved DD has pulled a fast one on me–and the rest of the world–and announced they are officially changing their name from Dunkin’ Donuts, to just straight up “Dunkin’.”

Essentially, everyone I know already calls it Dunkin’, so let’s be real it’s not that big of a deal. And, they’ll still be serving up donuts every day on their regular menu–along with their breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, and other options. The official name change will take place on January 1st.

Regardless of the fact that the company has announced that they will still be serving donuts, it hasn’t stopped anyone on Twitter from getting pretty damn triggered over the name-change.

And, there you have it, folks–we can never truly be happy.
