Though Chrissy Teigen is known as the Queen of Twitter (and my heart), she and john Legend first made a big splash as a couple who was absolutely obsessed with one another. Their open sexual attraction carried several of John Legend’s music videos, and though some of us might have been jealous, it was completely understandable. I mean, look at them both! If there are people out there who should be freaking 24/7, it’s those two.
Things have changed. The couple now has two children, adorable toddler Luna and baby Miles. Undoubtedly, they have help around the house that the average couple does not, but they still have some average couple issues that pop up after kids. Teigen shared with Women’s Health Magazine that things are not what they once were in the bedroom—and that’s totally normal.
After the birth of Luna, Teigen says she had serious post-partum depression and turned to drinking to deal with her feelings. She says she didn’t care for her body properly. Eventually, she went on anti-depressants which helped shift her perspective and focus on mental wellness.
“It’s like, what could be more important than mental health? What’s more important than being proud of yourself and doing the best you can for your body?” she explained.
Since the birth of Miles, she been cleared for exercise and sex again, but admits that it’s hard to prioritize the latter for both her and her husband.
“It doesn’t matter who you are—even if you’re a sexy R&B crooner or an ex–swimsuit model, you’re just tired! We still have that passion for each other, but are we doing it randomly in a dressing room? No!” she said. “We’ll get back into it again. But it is funny: If he performs somewhere, and I go, I’m like, ‘Oh, he’s sexy.’ We’ll probably have sex that night.”
So, basically, they’re exactly like any couple with kids: sex doesn’t happen that much. Though, I guess most of us don’t get a sexual kickstart from seeing our partner on stage, seducing an audience with his sweet crooning. Celebrities are not quite like us.
