Many famous bands have a long path to becoming household names.

Musicians have to learn to play instruments, write songs, go in and out of rehab, tour, rehab again. Finally, if they’re lucky, they hit it big with a song about the worst heartbreak of their lives or one about how they really like drinking at parties.

Either way, it’s rehab again.

Lastly, they write a memoir about how to all happened, and in that book, there are photos from the early days that remind us that we too were young once. These photos of bands from before and after they became famous are the nostalgia trip we all need right now.

What’s truly mindblowing to me is that there was a time when The Beatles were just some dudes in Liverpool. I often wonder if they can remember a time when they were anonymous dorks or if they’re as shocked by the photos as we are.
