It’s not easy to maintain a good work-life balance, especially when you work an hourly job that is consistently understaffed and your boss doesn’t care about your happiness.
Crappy bosses are everywhere and in every industry, but customer-facing industries are emotionally and physically draining, and getting denied a time off request is infuriating, especially when you really need it.
Comedian Kevin McCaffrey tweeted about a time he requested time off at Olive Garden and was denied. The tweet that was intended as a joke ended up spawning a reply thread of people sharing their worst boss experiences and baffling things their boss had the audacity to say to them.
