You ever see a funny tweet or meme and think “Holy cow, I thought I was the only one!” And then you discover that not only do you and OP both do this bizarre, specific thing — so do the tens of thousands of other people who shared the post.
Folks really aren’t that different from one another, which is either a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. On the one hand, we’re all connected by our private and quirky little acts, like putting your hand up for no reason while lying down, or hearing a song and imagining yourself playing it for your entire high school and blowing everyone’s minds. These shared traits remind us that seemingly opposite people can find common ground. On the other hand, knowing other people do the same weird things as you can make you feel just a scooch less special.
