Milly Rose Bannister recently posted a TikTok that has the internet shaming her for being “unethical.”
You see, this bag of genius posted a video of herself removing an avocado from a Coles bag, slicing it, and spreading it over an order of eggs on toast.
She captioned the video, “Bring your own avocado. Thank me later!”
But, uh, nobody thanked her. In fact, people quickly jumped on her for being “cheap” and “embarrassing.”
“There’s a big difference between being savvy and cheap,” said one user.
“Eat at home if you have an issue paying café or restaurant prices,” another wrote in.
Other people advised her to simply not eat out if she couldn’t afford the prices.
“If you can’t afford to eat there, don’t go,” said one person. They added, “You are taking away a table for someone else. Times are tough and the moment so please support businesses.”
The owner of the cafe, who for some reason hasn’t banned this woman, heard about the video and said she “always” did this.
Bannister tried to defend herself (get ready to roll your eyes so hard they get stuck, y’all):
“Please keep in mind: this café is thriving. The owner lies – I don’t always do it, only [at his café] when I’m in Coles before.”
Bannister also says that she had “already spent $180” at the cafe just “this week” so she’s not the problem. Of course you aren’t, bless your heart, etc.
AND THEN. THE ENTITLEMENT: “I think it’s better to spend $14 at a café than to spend $0 – and I hate sitting at home and cooking my own eggs,” Bannister wrote.
A hospitality expert named Madeline Ward who has worked for over ten years in the industry spoke with Daily Mail and told them she was “shocked” by the behavior.
“I feel I am fortunate that in over a decade of working in the hospitality industry, I have not seen such behavior,” Ward said.
She continued, “It is absolutely absurd that someone would find it acceptable to bring their own avocado to a café.”
