As much as a good home interior makes life simpler, some features are definitely designed by people who haven’t thought things through for everyone. Modern designs and fancy appliances might seem like a great idea, but they don’t always fit everyone’s needs. Especially for us women, there are certain bathroom features that just scream, “A man designed this.” And trust me, once you spot them, it all makes sense.
Take the infamous “waterfall showerhead” for example. This is the one that got wedding photographer Ann Mark all fired up. She hilariously asked:
“Can you tell if a man or a woman designed this bathroom renovation?”
And honestly, she’s right. While the thought of standing under a waterfall might sound refreshing, it’s a nightmare for anyone with long hair.

She pointed to the showerhead in the bathroom and stated “That is a dead giveaway that a man redesigned this bathroom. Women see this in an Airbnb or a hotel and we’re like, Dang it. We can’t take body showers now.”
Since the showerhead sprays water directly downwards, it’s almost impossible to avoid getting your hair wet. For most men with short hair, this likely is not a big deal. But as Ann Mark points out:
“We have to wash, blow dry, and style our hair every single time we shower.”
Mark urged viewers to share this with anyone involved in bathroom remodeling, stressing:
“No more waterfall showerheads, please.” as she believes this design trend is highly overrated.

It’s not just Mark; countless other women share the same frustration with waterfall showers. “You just have to stand there with the water pouring down on your head or stand completely out of the water, no thanks,” commented @its.meagain.k. Another user, @integrityweightloss, recalled, “Not me in an Airbnb once with a garbage bag wrapped around my head because I just wanted a quick rinse off before dinner.” @wintrygiraffe chimed in, “Even when I am washing my hair, I still want to stand under the water without getting a face full of water.”
While many women believe men don’t get the hassle of dealing with waterfall showers and the subsequent blow-drying and styling, one devoted husband proved otherwise. An Arizona-based hairstylist, Mariah, known as @happyhairhouse on Instagram, posted a touching video of a husband learning to blow-dry his wife’s hair. His wife, who had lost muscle function in both her arms, needed his help to look and feel her best. The overlay text read, “He is so sweet. He just wants her to feel beautiful.” With Mariah’s guidance, the husband mastered the blow-drying technique, turning the whole moment into a perfect example of “couple goals.”
