Police in Gardner, Kansas, set up a camera in a park after getting reports of a mountain lion in the area. A mountain lion is definitely pretty yikes, but absolutely nothing compared to what ended up being captured by their wildlife cam.
The police department posted pictures on Facebook of what their camera recovered, and all I have to say is WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN KANSAS?
The camera did catch some wildlife.
A skunk.
A coyote.
Whatever this little dude is. Raccoon, maybe?
NBD. But then things got really weird.
Like this person witha walker carrying something very sharp through the darkness.
And. Um. Santa? Drinking a beer?
And this person in what looks like rubber gloves and a bulldog mask.
And this person doing who knows what while wearing a gas mask??
And this, which is…definitely something.
And this, which defies explanation.
AND DEAR GOD, NO, THIS.
WHICH IS HALF OF A COUPLE, APPARENTLY.
AAUUUGGHHH!
Okay, okay, clearly this is not really terrifying stuff, but locals trolling the cops, which, bravo. (Slow clap.)
And the police department thought so, too. They wrote in their post,
We would like to sincerely thank the persons responsible as it made our day when we pulled up what we expected to be hundreds of pictures of coyotes, foxes and raccoons. Thank you to the citizens who noticed the cameras. Your effort and sense of humor are greatly appreciated.
Turns out Kansas was weirder than Dorothy ever let on in The Wizard of Oz.
