Nicki Minaj Turned Rappers Into Literal Puppets In Her New Music Video And Fans Are Cackling

Nicki Minaj has been in the headlines a lot lately. Between her endless beef with Cardi B to her tantrums over album sales with Travis Scott, the female rapper is on everyone’s mind. To no surprise, Minaj used some of the spotlight in her favor to release her music video to the track “Barbie Dreams.”
The song, which mimics Biggie Smalls’ 1994 song “Just Playing (Dreams)” and Lil’ Kim’s “Dreams,” discusses all the rappers in the industry Nicki Minaj would sleep with or have slept with already. The track, which many thought originally was a diss track, has been said to be a “white flag wave” at Lil’ Kim and a huge head nod to the Notorious B.I.G.

The music video, released this week, is actually one for the books. Along with Minaj in colorful outfits and wigs, there are dozens of rappers featured–as puppets. From Meek Mill to DJ Khaled, a lot of mainstream rappers are there, controlled by puppeteer Nicki Minaj herself.

Fans on Twitter were absolutely obsessed with the pettiness and shade that Minaj was insinuating–that she controls these “little rappers.”
