Hollywood calls it your “elevator pitch” — the idea is that you can describe your movie to an exec within the space of an elevator ride and they’ll love it so much that they buy it right there.

I mean, that’s the fiction.

Obviously it doesn’t happen that way and you need a much more involved pitch, but it’s an incredibly hard, and good, skill to have. Most of the time, however, the elevator pitch sucks.
