Have you ever looked at something totally ordinary and thought it could be so much more? That is pretty much the everyday magic of Domenic Bahmann. He has this amazing ability to take simple things like bananas, cups, or matches and reimagine them as clever little works of art. Originally from Munich and now living in Canberra, Australia, he has been sharing his playful ideas with the world since 2010.

What makes his work so fun is that it forces you to slow down and actually notice the stuff you usually ignore. In 2013, he even launched a project called ‘Stop, Think, Make’ where he challenged himself to turn everyday objects into art every single week. It was a way to keep pushing his creativity while showing the rest of us that inspiration can come from the most random places.

For me, the coolest part about Domenic’s art is how it makes you look at your own surroundings a little differently. Suddenly, a teabag, a shoe, or a pencil doesn’t feel so dull anymore. It is a reminder that creativity is hiding in plain sight, and sometimes the most brilliant ideas are sitting right there on the kitchen counter waiting to be noticed.
