Ultrasounds Are The Latest Nail Trend And They’re Actually Hella Cool

Few things are taken to as great extremes as nail art and gender reveals/pregnancy announcements—though only recently did women start combining the two.

That’s right. I’m talking ultrasound nails.

Though it sounds a bit over over-the-top, the effect—achieved by transferring laser-printed decals onto a nail that has been painted white—actually looks pretty sweet, and is certainly on-brand for any baby shower or gender reveal party you may be hosting or attending.

While some commenters thought the nails were a lovely way to commemorate a pregnancy…

…Others weren’t as wild on the idea.

Aesthetics and trends aside, some women have been using the nail ultrasounds as a way to remember the children they never met as a result of miscarriages.

Instagram user @nailsbysara shared her struggle with fertility and miscarriage, writing how she “lost all inspiration as I struggled with the grief,” and how seeing her lost child “on my nails makes me smile ❤️”
