Chris Pratt Admits He Used To Eat Shrimp Off People’s Plates, And Is That Gross Or Fine?

Chris Pratt is probably the only movie star in Hollywood whose humble origins include a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. restaurant.

The actor took to Instagram Tuesday to share a photo of himself sitting in a booth at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. in New York above the caption, “Twenty years ago I was a waiter at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company.”

It was at the Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant in Maui, Hawaii, that Pratt was discovered after he waited on on actress Rae Dawn Chong, who ended up casting him in his first movie, the 2000 horror-comedy short “Cursed Part 3.” He was just 19 years old at the time, and living out of his van.

“Every time I go back I’m reminded of the thousands of shrimp I ate off of people’s plates on the way back to the kitchen,” Pratt wrote in the Instagram caption.

“Please tip your server,” he concluded. “Leave at least 20%. Also leave some shrimp.”

Pratt’s original tale racked up over 2.1 million Instagram likes and was soon disseminated across other social media platform Facebook and Reddit.

…Though some were grossed out by Pratt’s confession.

Whether you support servers eating leftover food off peoples’ plates or not, one thing is for certain: From living in a van to being discovered by Tommy Chong’s daughter to getting engaged to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter, Pratt sure seems to have a blessed life.
