Bride’s IKEA Bag Hack For Peeing In A Wedding Dress Is Truly Genius

Wedding days can be wonderful but are almost always stressful. There are so many things to coordinate and worry about and then there’s the dress, which is most likely gorgeous and heavy and very pale-colored and did we mention heavy? Because that’s a big problem when it comes to something every bride has to do at some point on her special day—go to the bathroom.

I once attended a wedding where the bridezilla made one of her bridesmaids accompany her to the restroom and hold up her dress for her every time she had to pee, yelling the whole time about how it was “her day.” This was, as you can imagine, not a super fun task for anyone involved.

But one bride solved the problem by inventing the perfect dress-holder-upper and all it took was one of those blue plastic IKEA bags that you use when you’re hauling a bunch of stuff somewhere.

A woman who identified herself just as Tina came up with the genius idea. Her wedding DJ posted pictures of the altered IKEA bag on Facebook, where they took off because of how useful the hack is.

Tina simply cut a hole in the bottom of the IKEA bag so that when she needed to use the toilet, she could just gather the dress up and tuck it into the bag as she was raising it. Then the dress is above her waist, she doesn’t have to use her hands, and nothing touches the bathroom floor.

Look at that. Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy.

Of her hack, Tina said,

Well, Igot married a few weeks ago (in a mermaid wedding dress) and I was really worried about going to the bathroom and not being able to … handle myself.

Someone helping or watching me going to the bathroom on my wedding day? Not being able to have free hands to use the toilet paper? Or even worse if my period decides to show? NO WAY! Some stuff like this bridal bathroom helper exists but are expensive just because it is wedding related.

My bridal bathroom helper hack costs about 0.80 euro and I did it the day before my wedding. It took only 3 minutes. What I like best is it’s almost free and allows me to make my life easier on my wedding day. So here is the hack.

People on Facebook loved the invention.

IKEA really does come through.

Another woman mentioned the hack she used on her wedding day. Acceptable, but we like this one better (hands-free!).

And it turns out I was not alone in my lifting of the dress duties.

Tina, we may not know your face, but we’ve seen your underwear, and brides and brides-to-be everywhere thank you for your brilliant hack!
